Christian Counselor Education & Training Programs

Faith Counseling and Training offers multiple Christian Counselor Education programs such as our local Christian counseling classes and distance education Christian counseling classes for those who feel called to the “Ministry of Counseling.”  To accomplish our vision of training other Christian counselors we became a Certified Academic Institution or “CAI” of the National Christian Counselors Association.  We also became an International Representative “IR” of the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counseling.  These relationships allow us to offer high quality classes in combination with our years of ministry and counseling experience.

Dr. David M. Smuin is also a Clinical Supervisor through the National Board of Christian Clinical Supervisors.  This gives FCT the ability to also provide the clinical supervision that the N.C.C.A. requires.

These relationships allow us to offer specific Christian Counselor Education programs in which students can qualify for membership in the respective organization, obtain a certificate, faith based license or academic degree.

Faith Counseling and Training combines our years of Christian counseling and ministry experience with these programs to help students reach their goals and be successful.

Regular Contact for Students in the Christian Counselor Education Programs

Christian counseling students taking classes from Faith Counseling and Training are required to make regular contact.  This happens through phone calls, emails and when possible in person.  Our goal is to have bi-monthly contact.  When this is not possible there must be monthly contact.  Failure to make the minimum monthly contact may cause the student to be suspended and require a new application and fee to be reinstated.

Online and Distance Christian Counselor Education Programs Allow Time and Flexibility

The online and distance education programs are very flexible in terms of when and how you study.  They give you the ability to schedule study time around work, family and other important life events.  This flexibility is a blessing, but it takes a strong commitment to follow through with.  The bi-monthly contact and at a minimum monthly contact services as the accountability needed to stay on track.

Our experience has shown us that the most successful Christian counseling students are the ones who stay in regular contact, discuss the material they are studying and have a strong commitment to their goals.

The time it takes to finish each Christian counselor education program varies depending on the program requirements.  However, individual classes inside of a program of study must be completed in no more than 8 weeks from the time the class is shipped.  Students who are unable to complete the class in the 8 week time frame must fill out an extension which adds an additional 4 weeks to the study time.  Failure to complete a class in the required time frame will result in a $50.00 late fee.

In any program of study students may choose to delay ordering their next class for several weeks.  This allows for more flexibility and time to pay for the class.  However, monthly contact is still required during the time between classes.

Cost and Payments for Christian Counselor Training Programs

The cost of each Christian counselor training program is detailed within the program.  Faith Counseling does not require full payment to begin.  Rather we require payment for the class being taken or the applicable fees that are due.  This allows students to pay as they go at a comfortable pace.
