Dr. David M. Smuin - Pastor / Director Bio
Dr. David M. Smuin currently serves as the President of Faith Counseling and Training. He also serves as General Secretary of the National Conservative Christian Church and Pastor of The Living Room Christian Fellowship in Sarasota, Florida.
Rev. Smuin holds a Ph.D. In Clinical Pastoral Counseling from Colorado Theological Seminary, M.A. in Clinical Christian Counseling and a BA in Theology. He was first licensed to preach in 1991 and then Ordained as a Pastor in 1994. Rev. Smuin is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor with the National Christian Counselors Association, an Ordained Minister of Counseling through the National Conservative Christian Church, Board Certified Clinical Supervisor with the National Board of Christian Clinical Therapists and is an instructor for and member of The Sarasota Academy of Christian Counselors. He holds board certifications in Group Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, Integrated Marriage and Family Therapy, Certified Temperament Therapist, Death and Grief therapy and is currently completing his PhD.
Since 1991 Pastor Dave has served as a pastor, counselor, short-term missionary to Siberia, taken additional short mission trips and been on staff at several churches in a variety of capacities.
Pastor Dave's passion is training and releasing those in the Body of Christ. Thus, Faith Counseling and Training is continually developing new Christian counselor education programs and ministry classes, functions as a Certified Academic Institution for the National Christian Counselors Association and offers lab style settings for students to apply what they have learned.
Pastor Dave works with a variety of issues including marriage, pre-marriage, family issues, blended families, ministry burnout, depression, anger, fear, panic and most other mental and emotional issues.
Pastor Dave's wife, Angie, also shares his passion for the Lord, counseling and helping others find their place in ministry. They have two girls and three boys ranging in age from 3 to 20 years of age.
Rev. Angela M. Smuin - Counselor Bio
Angela M. Smuin is a Clinical Member of the National Christian Counselors Association, a Licensed Minister of Pastoral Counseling, and a member of the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counselors. She holds an M.A. in Clinical Pastoral Counseling and a B.A. Degree in Journalism. Angela is called to the counseling ministry, and is also an associate counselor at Faith Counseling and Training. She works closely with her husband who is the president of Faith Counseling. She is a Board Certified Temperament Therapist by the N.C.C.A. Angela specializes in family, women, children and youth issues.
Angela is a gifted worship leader and song writer. She has been involved in a variety of ministries such as teaching Sunday school, writing and directing drama for the church, leading children's choirs, working at a church youth camp facility, short term mission trips, and directing children's church. Angela also homeschools, leads worship and many other activities. She has a tender heart and a great faith in the Lord which makes an excellent combination for service.
